Colours - initial thoughts

My initial thoughts for the colours I am going to use on my website were for them to be natural themed colours and if I use a background image of the grand canyon I need to make sure the colour scheme will fit in with this or the it will look disjointed. 

For the natural colours I immediately  thought of Greens, Blues and Brown as earthy or natural colours that would link to the grand canyon well. 

The browns would link to the earth and would suit the rocky imagery of the grand canyon. 

The blues link to the earth and the sky which is often seen in the grand canyon images I looked at. However in website it is generally used on business websites so I need to be careful if I use blue. 




                                                                           The greens are linked to nature and are often used on websites that link to nature in web design so green would be a good choice but I will have to make a colour scheme that goes well with it. 




Thinking about this more however the grand canyon has a lot of great imagery so using a background image on the site could be something to look at. If this is what I decide to do the the colours of the other elements need to suit this so they fit in and do not look out of place. This could be difficult but it also means that the background offers a lot of colour to the site so all I will have to do is build on this.
